A free, browser-based multiplayer war game powered by Voronoi diagrams.
Voronoy is a real-time multiplayer strategy game that runs entirely in your browser — no downloads, no installs. Control your territory on a living grid of Voronoi cells: selected zones are divided mathematically, and you claim, expand, and protect land against other players in live matches.
Every match starts with 8,000 energy and a single cell. Choose your starting zone carefully, expand quickly, defend your borders, and push through enemy territory until you capture them all. Matches are ranked with an ELO system and every game is automatically recorded as a replay you can watch or download.
Getting started takes less than a minute. Open the game, pick a territory size that matches your experience, and press start. You spend energy to claim adjacent neutral cells, reinforce zones that are pushing toward the front line, and capture enemy cells by committing enough forces to overwhelm their garrison. Keep an eye on your production speed: zones that are still growing generate more energy over time, so a balanced economy beats a greedy rush in the long run.
Each cell sits at the center of its own Voronoi region, and adjacency decides what you can attack. Because territory is generated mathematically rather than hand-drawn, no two maps play the same. Learn to read which zones are exposed, which borders are safe, and when to stop expanding and start reinforcing — the tutorial and replay system let you rewind any match and study exactly where a decision turned the game.
The name Voronoy comes from the Voronoi diagram, a classical spatial-partitioning concept from computational geometry. The map is built by growing cells from every seed point at a uniform rate, creating the organic, asymmetric territories that make each match unique. This same pattern appears throughout nature — from giraffe spots to honeycomb — and it is what gives Voronoy its distinctive look and depth.
But the math is not decoration — it drives real strategy. Because every cell owns the region closest to its seed, territories are never uniformly sized. Wide flanks, chokepoints, and exposure all emerge naturally from the geometry, which means map awareness is a genuine skill. Two players who capture the same number of cells can be in completely different positions depending on where the Voronoi boundaries fall.
There is nothing to install and no launcher to update. Open voronoy.io on any modern desktop or mobile browser and you are playing within seconds. Your progress, rank, and replays are tied to your account, so you can switch devices and pick up exactly where you left off. Because the game is lightweight WebGL, even modest hardware runs matches smoothly.
Multiplayer is real-time, not turn-based. Waiting for an opponent to act stalls the match, encouraging defensive, grindy play; Voronoy keeps everyone acting in the same second, which rewards decisive, aggressive territory control. If you prefer to practice first, a full roster of bots at different difficulty levels lets you learn matchups and timings before you risk your ELO.

Voronoy is free to play and free to win. Climb the global ELO leaderboard, earn in-game PARA, and unlock premium features — including larger maps and an ad-free experience — with a one-time crypto purchase. There are no pay-to-win advantages: the outcome of every match is decided by your decisions on the grid.
If you are the competitive type, the ELO system pairs you against opponents near your rating so every game is a fair fight, and a dedicated leaderboard shows where you stand among the whole player base. If you prefer to relax, Bot vs Bot spectating and custom bot practice let you enjoy the game at your own pace without any pressure.
